Our Mission

Stalybridge Congregational Church is an independent church fellowship who, along with other Congregationalists, are united in our belief in the living God revealed to us in Jesus Christ. We trust in the promise of Jesus who said: ‘Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them’. 
We seek to honour God through an awareness of and respond to God’s presence through a commitment to Jesus Christ and the offering of worship. We accept that all people matter to God
and so seek to introduce others to Jesus and His love. We seek to grow in the faith through prayer, fellowship and by applying Biblical principles in all areas of life. The Church Meeting is the coming together of the members of the church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to discuss matters affecting the life of the Church. It is the Church Meeting that is the governing body of the church, every Church member can play his or her part in the decision making of the church through participation in the Church Meeting.
